ATLChris: Netflix upcharges $1/month for Blu Ray films

I just wish there was Netflix in Canada.

Really bad move, to suddenly start charging extra for something that is considered your core service.
The price difference between DVD and BluRay do not justify charging more, IMO.

What happens if I don't rent a BluRay disc that month?
What happens when BluRay discs decrease in price, are they going to remove the extra charge?
Why charge for BluRay, but not for InstantWatch? Are they waiting until everyone buys Roku boxes and feel invested?

I think the $1 a month if reasonable, but I understand your view on what they might do in the future. When Blu Ray comes down in price, I would assume they would remove the surcharge. Netflix doesn't seem to be one of those companies that likes to disappoint.

Hopefully they will make corrections as needed in the future.
