ATLChris: New Macbook Pro + Wired Keyboard = Trouble

  • Hair · 1 year ago
Restore your new MacBook Pro from Time Machine from your old MacBook Pro, or as a clone from your old MacBook Pro (Protip: use FireWire Direct Mode).

Once you've restored, then use the system disk that came with your new MacBook Pro and re-install Leopard. This is the way you should *always* migrate everything from one model of Mac to another model of Mac. If the Macs are the same exact model, you can just do the restore. Otherwise, you may be missing some of the drivers and patches that only apply to the previous model.

When I reinstall leopard, what method of install should I use? I am guessing achieve and install, but will that erase my data?
